Hello! (Self intro?)

Hi everyone!

So glad you're with me! I suppose I should give a bit of a self intro so you can get to know a little about me and what Stickybeaky's here to do.

Before Stickybeaky, I spent a little time selling my own art in the Australian anime convention circuit (and I still do). I've been racking my brain trying to remember how I got into it, but I honestly can't remember the specific moment where I went "yes, I want to sell my own stuff." I had experience helping out at my friends' tables and enjoyed myself, so that certainly contributed to it.

Once I set my heart on selling my own art, I ended up buying a printer and a Silhouette Cameo 4 cutting machine pretty quickly. For some reason, using a manufacturer hadn't even occurred to me, even though I had made some charms with one in the past. Maybe I was just built for the merch-making life... I say that half-jokingly but I managed to score the Cameo 4 for $100 within days of setting forth on this journey (which, if you're unfamiliar with cutting machines, is an absolute bargain). Coincidence?!

At this time I was also working in the games industry as a translator, but to be honest, the pay was (and is) quite bad. I have heard that the pay is okay for someone who lives in Japan, but combining the weak yen and Australia's high cost of living makes for a terrible storm. The best thing about it was that I was able to work remotely, which enabled me to also work on my art in a way that I wouldn't have been able to if I were locked in a 9-5.

Anyway, that's all I have energy for today. If you stuck around, thank you, and I guess I'll ramble at you another day sometime.
